Core Gameplay Loop
Brickton is an interconnected cottage industry — every step funds the next. You turn neighborhood junk into premium product, and premium product into BlockBucks and crypto.
- Scavenge trash bins, street poop, grass, and iron ore for raw materials.
- Sell those materials for your first BlockBucks.
- Buy grow gear — pots, soil, seeds, grow lights, and chemicals.
- Plant, then keep the crop watered while applying chemicals on schedule.
- Harvest the crop once it reaches 100% growth.
- Dry it on a rack, then package it into retail bags or pack it into display jars.
- Sell to roaming NPC buyers, liquidate on the market, or list to players for $BRICK.
Scavenging & Gathering
When you start out with empty pockets, the streets are your best friend. Gathered scraps sell in the Marketplace for your first BlockBucks.
Trash-Can Scavenging
Green trash bins are scattered through the neighborhood and reset every 60 seconds. Interacting with one opens a search mini-game: a cursor sweeps back and forth across a slide bar. Press Left Click when the cursor lands in the bright green Sweet Spot.
| Zone | Success | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Green (Perfect) | 100% | Guaranteed max +3 Plastic Bottles |
| Yellow (Suboptimal) | 70% | 1–2 Plastic Bottles |
| Red (Miss) | Fails | 0 Bottles |
Plastic Bottles sell instantly in the Marketplace for quick early-game cash.
Poop Collection
- Neighborhood dogs leave "surprises" on lawns and sidewalks. Walk up to a brown pile and click to pick it up instantly — no channel or mini-game.
- Sell it in the Marketplace right away; it's weirdly in high demand and fetches a solid premium.
Wild Resources
- Grass — collected from standard lawns.
- Iron Ore — rare rocks found in untamed areas. Sell them raw for starting capital.
The Farming System
To make real money you need to become a high-tier grower. Growing is about placement, timing, and chemistry — a real-time mini-game, not "plant and wait." You keep plants hydrated and apply growth catalysts at the exact right moments to maximize quality.
Setup & Equipment
All grow gear is bought from the seeded NPC shop in the Marketplace:
- Weed Pot — the foundational container. Reusable — it does not break on harvest.
- Soil — placed inside an empty Weed Pot.
- Weed Seed — planted into a soil-filled pot.
- Grow Light — hang it on the grid slot directly above a pot for a 3.0× speed boost, cutting a full grow from 45 seconds down to 15 seconds.
- Big / Small Shelves — furniture used to stack and organize glass jars and free up floor space.
To plant: place a pot on an active floor grid, fill it with Soil, click the pot to cycle to the recipe you want, drop in a Weed Seed, then water it — watering starts Stage 1 (Growing) and the growth clock.
Hydration & Moisture
Plants are living things and won't grow dry. Once seeded, the crop's Moisture Bar drains by 1.5% per second — a full pot dries out in about 66 seconds.
- Stunting Penalty — if moisture hits 0%, growth pauses completely until you water again.
- Re-hydrate — equip your reusable Watering Can, hover the dry plant, and click to instantly restore moisture to 100%.
Precision Chemistry
For the highest-quality crops, feed the plant specific chemicals at precise moments in its growth cycle. Its overall growth percentage (0–100%) shows on the hover tooltip. Chemicals are bought from the shop:
- CHEMICALgreen — 15 B
- CHEMICALred — 30 B
- CHEMICALpurple — 50 B
- CHEMICALgold — 90 B
When the seed is first watered, click the plant to cycle through the available recipe books, then apply each chemical as growth enters its target window:
- Perfect application — apply the chemical while overall growth is inside the recipe step's window to score 100 points for that step.
- Off-time application — too early or too late scores 100 − distance × 5.
- Missed step — forgetting a chemical scores 0 for that step.
Cultivation Recipes
Four master recipes cycle on the pot. Apply each chemical when overall growth reaches its window:
| Recipe | Steps & Timing |
|---|---|
| Chemical Cocktail | Red 20–25% → Green 40–45% → Purple 60–65% → Gold 80–85% |
| Green Rush | Green 25–35% → Green 65–75% |
| Royal Flush | Red 30–35% → Purple 70–75% |
| Golden Touch | Gold 45–55% |
Harvest & Quality
At 100% growth, click to harvest. Your chemical accuracy becomes a Quality Score that sets the crop's tier:
- Exotic Wet Weed — score ≥ 90% (beautiful purple glow).
- Premium Wet Weed — score ≥ 50% (exotic pink glow).
- Standard Wet Weed — score < 50% (standard green glow).
Drying & Packaging
Harvesting yields Wet Weed. You can't sell or smoke it wet — it has to be dried, then optionally packaged for a big markup.
Drying Racks
- Hang your wet crop on a Big or Short Drying Rack.
- Drying takes exactly 15 seconds and fully supports offline progress while you're logged out.
- The tier is preserved: Standard → Weed, Premium → Premium Weed, Exotic → Exotic Weed.
Packaging Stations
Combine raw dried loose weed with retail bags for high-margin product. Formula: 1× Loose Weed + 1× Zip Bag (2 B) at a Packaging Station.
| Product | Base Value |
|---|---|
| Weed Bag (Standard) | 40 B |
| Premium Weed Bag | 80 B |
| Exotic Weed Bag | 160 B |
Storage & Jars
Shelter & Shelves
Your Woodland Shelter has a bulk vault for stashing raw resources (like Plastic Bottles) to keep your hotbar clean — transfer items in and out freely. Buy Big and Small Shelves to physically place items such as empty pots, soil, chemical bottles, and glass jars.
Display Jars
Place empty glass jars (Large, Medium, Small) on wall shelves to preserve and display your dry weed. To fill one, hold dry loose weed, look at an empty jar on a shelf, and click to pack it. Selling packed jars returns a massive premium over loose weed.
| Jar (full) | Standard | Premium | Exotic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 50 B | 90 B | 160 B |
| Medium | 75 B | 130 B | 240 B |
| Large | 100 B | 180 B | 320 B |
Marketplace
Open the market board from your HUD to turn your work into currency. It runs on two currencies and two selling styles.
Currencies
- BlockBucks (B) — in-game cash, earned by scavenging and dealing, and spent on supplies.
- $BRICK — the on-chain crypto rail; player-to-player listings can be priced in $BRICK.
Option A — Instant Marketplace
- Instantly liquidate gathered assets: Plastic Bottles, Poop, Grass, Iron Ore, Weed Bags, and packed Jars.
- The catch: instant sales execute at standard wholesale base values.
Player Listings & Deliveries
- Sell — list an inventory item, set quantity and currency (BlockBucks or $BRICK) and a unit price, and publish to the global order book.
- My Listings — track sales, cancel unsold orders to recover stock, or claim payouts.
- Deliveries — purchases and recovered stock don't teleport into your pocket; they arrive as Pending Parcels at the blue Parcel Machine in the center of the neighborhood. Walk up and interact to collect.
Street Dealing
Prefer fast cash over the global market? Wandering Weed Buyers patrol the block. Approach one, wait for them to pause, and click to open the transaction panel.
- The premium — street buyers pay a whopping 45 BlockBucks per gram of standard loose weed, over 2× the instant marketplace value of 20 B.
- The catch — they only buy standard loose Weed. No Premium or Exotic tiers, and no processed bags or jars.
Pro Tips
- Never grow without lights. A Grow Light triples growth speed (45s → 15s) — hang one above every pot to maximize your hourly yield.
- Watch two clocks. Keep an eye on the moisture bar and the growth percentage — hitting the perfect chemical window is the difference between standard weed and a 320 B Exotic Large Jar.
- Carry a Watering Can. Don't let crops dry out and stall — check back often to keep hydration high.
- Sell smart. Dump raw scraps on the instant market, but move standard loose weed to street buyers for the 45 B/g premium.
